It isn’t often that people are extremely fond of the summer heat. Surely, the sun and warmth feel nice, make us feel energized and motivated, but everything is good only in moderation and so is this. Unfortunately, summer days quickly become extremely hot and we end up melting and chaining ourselves to the AC without much desire to go outside into the world. This is often the case in big cities where the burning concrete increases the temperature making it almost impossible to live. Now, imagine having a date and actually looking good despite the horrible heat. The truth is that this is doable, it just takes a bit of savvy and good will and we’re here to give a few pointers.
Dating in the summer really puts you in a pickle – on the one hand, you want to wear a minimal amount of clothes as it’s just too hot, but on the other, you don’t want to wear too little and give out the wrong impression. This is why you should opt for breezy fabric. Cotton and linen shirts and shorts are amazing for warm weather as they allow your skin to breathe and they feel as if you’re not wearing anything. Moreover, there are many summer floral designs in these fabrics and it’s a great choice for any casual date or any first encounter. You’ll look as if you just stepped out of a beach in Hawaii ready for a Tikki- tikki party.
Make an impression
Impressions are important, especially first ones. However, you should try and make an entrance every time you appear on a date. The best thing, of course, is to do it effortlessly and subtly. This is why you need something unusual, mysterious and intriguing on you. It seems silly and childish, but it really isn’t. If you’re making a first impression, wear an interesting wrist band or let your tattoo show. You can also wear a T-shirt with an edgy sign or any cool piece of urban wear, but out of the ordinary – everyone likes a bad boy.
This is a very important aspect and it’s extremely difficult to control it. Naturally, you’ll shower before the actual date. However, you may have to go into public transportation or just the walk can make you sweat during the summer. Unfortunately, we can’t control our glands and the sweat will just pour down completely out of our control. This is why you could use some baby powder and put it on just before you leave the house. Body wipes and a good deodorant can also come in handy if you can shove them in your backpack!
Good old denim shorts and pants have saved us so many times in life and they’re here to rescue us again. When in doubt, pick one of the two and choose a tee you feel cool in and you’re the king of casual and anything can come your way. Going to a club or just a drink? Going for a ride or a walk? Anything goes. If you’re not going to some fancy dinner party, denim can get you anywhere else.
Loose it up
Remember to keep it loose on the warmest days. Save your tight clothes for another occasion and turn to a loose pair of shorts and a shirt and be charming and less sweaty. Tight clothes can only show sweating and the effect of the heat on you. This is why the crazy hot weather is best beaten by casual baggy clothes and some cool shades.
All in all, it’s not easy looking hot when there’s real hell outside. This is why you need to get smart and prioritize. As soon as you manage sweating and choose a good fabric to wear, you’ll be feeling much better and ready to conquer that date.
