With the arrival of spring and London Fashion Week, is there a better time for updating your wardrobe? The energy obtained through a few rays of sunlight should certainly be put into good use. I personally tend to instantly get hyped about making some sort of a change in the spring. It’s fun and it can drive you to do other things. Fashion is a motivator itself if you find your true vibe and you don’t need to put in too much effort to do it. Instagram is full of fashion influencers and they’re just a click away. The only problem is telling the good ones from the not so good ones. This is where we come in to give you some guidance and put you on the right track.
Freddie Harrel @freddieharrel
Born a Parisian, now a Londoner, Freddie is known for her love of bold patterns and colours. She loves effective jewellery which complements her beautiful hair. The glow on her face stemming from her honesty and a down-to-earth approach to life make her look absolutely radiant. She openly expresses self-doubt occasionally and she doesn’t hide the fact that nobody’s perfect which makes her even more adorable and relatable.
Lizzy Hadfield @shotfromthestreet
Lizzy is a denim lover and she’s all about tailored pieces. She is mainly focused on awesome everyday looks and she loves discrete, but stylish jewellery. It’s easy to keep up with her style as these clothing items can be found practically anywhere. You can buy stylish earrings online and some fancy pants and you’ll be good to rock the trend.
Lucy Williams @lucywilliams
Her beautiful wavy hair breathes summer beauty all year long. The way she combines simple loose clothing items creates the effect of pastel harmony. She nails that effortless look everyone’s craving for. When it comes to her style, it’s the little things that count. For instance, wide brows and large earrings fit perfectly with a neutral or pastel combo.
Susanna Lau @susiebubble
Lau is a fashion guru. Her status and her reputation date from 2006 and she well earned her place in the fashion world. Not only that she posts photos, but she writes essays on the topics of fashion which made her quite the big shot in the fashion industry. She is an icon and a role model for influencers to be.
Yanin Namasonthi @prettysickly
Yanin’s success started as a Tumblr account where she would post daily photos of her before going to work. It has been going on for 6 years now and people are massively coming to her for fashion advice. She’s worked with H&M, Nike and Converse and she has her own jewellery collection. Her signature look involves stunning shades of bronze and a bold introduction of an item that stands out. One needs to have the personality to support this boldness of style.
Tamara Kalinic @tamara
This Serbian girl moved to London to study pharmacy and stayed there to become a full-time fashion blogger. She was Elle’s influencer of the year in 2017. Her feed is full of amazing photos of her wearing expensive clothes on expensive trips. It’s everything one can wish for.
Alex Stedman @thefrugality
Being the definition of prudent shopping, Alex brings high fashion to the streets. She says she independently pays for all her material wishes and she reasonably spends money on some things in order to be able to afford the luxuries in her life. She claims one can look trendy without spending too much money which she talks about on her website on affordable stuff.
All these stunning girls are absolutely amazing. However, behind their glamorous Instagram accounts, there are flesh and blood women who made it. Every fashion influencer is one of us and that’s the best thing of all. They’re easier to relate and they make great role models as we all know they’re essentially human. They have their own lives, families and problems and they deal with all of it while being utterly fabulous and so can you.
